Different Kinds of Decks Here a few different kinds of decks that I use and like. I recommend going to a metaphysical bookstore or even online. If you like Angels, check out ones on angels. If you are into animal guides, check out those kind of cards.

Clients ask me all the time for other ways to check in with their intuition. They want to know how to tell the difference between intuition and their ego. What practices could they do regularly to build their trust in their intuition?

I believe in a practical approach to learning to use your intuition and to honing your ability to use that tool. I am one to recommend taking on daily or weekly practices.

One of my absolute favorite practices for strengthening my intuition and connection to Source is pulling cards for the week.

Pulling Cards?

Simply asking a question and pulling a single card or doing a multiple card spread. There is a huge variety of Tarot, oracle cards, and decks that even relate to books.

traditionaldeck1. Choose a deck. Find one that either has a subject that interests you such as angels or fairies OR a deck which has images, symbols, and words you like. For those technological peeps, there are apps where you can draw a card too. I prefer a physical deck however.

2. Get into quiet meditative space. Take deep cleansing breaths and bring into your mind a question.

Example Questions: What messages are there for me about _____? {relationships, work, health}
What messages are there for me about the week?
How can I get unstuck?
What do my guides (angels or god) have to tell me about {my week, my relationship, my health, this important meeting at work etc.}?

wisdondeck3. Shuffle the deck or mix up the cards really well. Once you have shuffled them enough, pull one or more cards. It is up to you. Remember that the more cards you pull the more interpretation you will have to do. I like pulling 1 card for my week and 3 cards when I have a question. The picture of me above is doing a celtic cross which I use for more complex questions. “Celtic Cross Spread”

shiftingdeck4. After you pull the card, look at it first. Use your intuition to observe. Don’t grab the book that came with the deck right away. What do you see? How does what you see make you feel or think? What is your take on the card’s message? If the card has words on it, how does that relate to the question you asked? Then go ahead and grab the book. You want to use the book as an additional interpretation of the card(s) you pull not the only one.

Okay your turn. Time to give it a try. It will take practice to first connect with your intuition when you pull the card(s), but if you keep doing this, you will start to understand the cards you are using. Plus you will begin to trust yourself more and those immediate impressions that you get.

Blessings!
